Benchtop MRI Instruments
Performance, Space, & Portability
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a powerful tool for scientific and industrial applications. Our benchtop MRI instruments are optimized for scientific research as well as educational use. The compact design and the powerful software offer great opportunities in either the research or teaching laboratory.
Research Lab MRI
For MRI research the Research Lab benchtop MRI is fully integrated into the MATLAB environment, which means the Research Lab can be integrated as sensors into more complex instruments or adapted to incorporate using synchronization or control of peripherals. The MATLAB ecosystem has thousands of additional sensors which can supplement the image information of MRI or the relaxation information of NMR.
The Research Lab is a compact MRI for advanced studies because it uses the Drive-l console which features the gradient control outputs to interface with an external gradient amplifier such as the DC-600 60 Amp current controlled gradient amplifier or a 3rd party gradient amplifier in a larger MRI instrument. The Drive-l also features digital inputs so the MRI experiment can be interfaced and tested with external devices for synchronization, control or communication with peripherals.
The Portable Lab instrument is specifically designed for laboratory classes to teach all of the basics of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Students will benefit from the hands-on examples made possible with our benchtop MRI systems. A list of experiments possible with the Portable Lab Teach-M software is below.
